I want to take this opportunity to make something very clear. The reason that I say that you need to learn how to build basic web pages, is so that if you decide not to build your own pages for your own web site and you decide to hire other people to do the work for you, then you will know exactly what to tell them that you will need to have done to that web site.
For example; you decide to call a Web designer and you tell him that you would like to have a professional looking site built for your multilevel marketing business. Well, the designer goes crazy and he uses a program called Adobe Flash to design your web pages and he makes a very beautiful site that when it opens up and has all sorts of dancing pictures and bouncing lights and buttons that do all sorts of really cool things. When you look at the new web page, it looks very beautifully done and you are very impressed with the expertise of the individual that designed your site.
However, this is the wrong type of web page or web site to have. You need a very static site that very simply opens up with basic text and a few optimized pictures that will convey the idea of your business. You want a very simple site and the simpler it is, the better off you are. The reason this is so, is because once you make the first page, you can make a template out of that so you do not need to change the graphic elements in the over all format of the web site or the other web pages. In other words, you will not have to change the banner or the pictures on the other pages, you can make the design so simple that anytime you want to write new text on your newer pages, you can just write it in and leave the rest of the web page alone. This way, it becomes very easy for you add additional web pages to your web site without redoing or reformatting the entire page. All you will have to do is change the text on each page in order to make new pages.
This is very important for you to know how to do, because you're going to be adding a lot of web pages to your web site. The reason that we are going to add a lot of pages to your web site is that the Big Daddy of Internet search engines is Google and Google loves new, fresh content. In order for some of your web pages to be recognized by Google on the Internet, you'll want your page to be the first one that is seen whenever somebody types in a word that is related to your web site. The rule of thumb when dealing with building a good web site, that is recognized and easily found by people on the Internet, is that you want to build web pages with very good content on them. You also want content added at least on a weekly basis. Once again, this is what the search engine Google loves to see; fresh, new content added over a period of time.
Another important facet of adding good, new and fresh content is the fact that you can also attract other sites that can point to your site's content. You want this to happen more than anything else. One reason for this is because Google likes to see what they call relevant links to your site. In other words you want similar websites linking to your website and one way to get those links is to have excellent content on your site that they will want to reference and link to it. Google will push your site up the search engines if there are similar sites linking to yours. For example, if you have a networking business that sells soap, then you would want other sites that are somehow about soap linking to yours. This is the relevance factor I was refering to earlier. If you are going to beat the competition, then this is the path you must take. There really aren't too many shortcuts.
As I stated above, you will have to work at this and become knowledgeable at the process of this, because it is important in the realm of Internet marketing and getting people interested in your site.
One other thing I should mention. Another way to get people to notice, link and reference your site is to be exceptional. Excelence should always be the order of the day. It is very similar to going to a doctor's office. If the doctor walks into the room and has tatoos all over his arms, smells bad and uses foul language as he examines you in the roughest manner possible, I can guarantee you that you will never return to his office. Your site and MLM or Networking business is the same exact way. Everything you do should be very professional and as accurate as you can make it. You also have to give away some outstanding article, ebook, software, etc. frely and whatever you decide to give away must be outstanding. This method will definitely seperate you from from the rest of the average to below par online businesses out there.
